CLICK TO SIGN UP FOR VSC 2020
Virginia Showmasters Circuit

Mission: The purpose of the Virginia Showmasters Circuit is to provide youth the opportunity to develop their showmanship and animal management skills.

Eligibility: By competing in 6 of 10 showmanship events that make up the circuit, participants will automatically be eligible for year-end awards. Membership fee is $10. Participants must sign up on the website by July 15, 2020. Participants will receive a T-Shirt for competing in 6 of 10 shows. Additional prizes will be awarded to youth participants that show in 10 of 10 shows and peewees that make 8 of 8 shows.

UPDATE DUE TO COVID-19
Due to the uncertainties in the world today, VSC will require a 60% show attendance for year end award qualifications for Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors. There will be a 50% requirement for Pee Wee exhibitors, not to exceed 4 shows.

New this year: Out of state exhibitors will be allowed to earn points towards year end awards, with the understanding that they cannot compete at the sheep symposium or the State Fair of Virginia.

*Due to age restrictions on some shows the peewee division will be required to compete in 4 of the 8 shows that allow peewee exhibitors and peewee exhibitors that compete in 8 of 8 show will receive additional awards.

Age Divisions:
1. Peewee- 8 and Under*
2. Junior- 9-12
3. Intermediate- 13-15
4. Senior- 16-19

We will follow the same age divisions as the VA State Fair. Except for Peewee. Youth, exhibitors must be at least 9 years of age by September 30, 2020 and must not have had their 19th birthday before January 1, 2020.

IT IS THE EXHIBITORS RESPONSIBILITY TO SHOW IN THE CORRECT AGE DIVISION, VSC WILL NOT AWARD POINTS TO EXHIBITORS SHOWING IN THE WRONG DIVISION. NO POINTS WILL BE AWARDED IN NOVICE CLASSES.

Exhibitors must follow the rules of each show they are participating in to receive points for that show. Protest over show rule infractions should be taken up with the individuals putting on the event, on show day. Once a show submits points to VSC there will be no protest allowed.

Scoring System:
1st 15 points
2nd 13 points
3rd 11 points
4th 9 points
5th 7 points
Made finals 6 points
All others 5 points

  1. For Junior, Intermediate and Senior Showman only the top 6 scores will count towards year-end awards
  2. Please note: FOR PEEWEE YEAR-END AWARDS, ONLY AN INDIVIDUAL’S TOP 4 SCORES WILL COUNT
  3. In the event of a tie:
  4. Head to head competition will be considered. (For clarification head to head is not a separate contest it is when both individuals were at the same show.)
  5. All dropped scores will be added.
  6. Additional prizes will be given if the tie remains.

Excited to announce VSC will be awarding the top 5 Combined Showman this year in all four age groups. We will take a showman's top 6 scores in lamb and top 6 scores in goats. (only 4 lamb and 4 goats for peewees). Exhibitors must qualify for year end awards in both Lamb and Goat showmanship to be eligible for the combined showman awards.

3. If a tie still exists, we will award additional prizes.

The awards ceremony will be held at the VA State Fair- Friday night after lamb and goat showmanship
