Virginia Showmaster Circuit – Breeder Sponsor Opportunity
Introducing high point overall lamb and high point overall goat award for the 2025 show season.
Points will be awarded for each animal as follows:
*** Animals nominated must be shown in a minimum of 5 shows (60% of shows) ***
*** Animals will NOT receive points until they have completed the nomination process***
Grand Overall Champion – 50 points (for the show)
Reserve Grand Overall Champion – 45 points (for the show)
3rd Overall – 40 points (for the show)
4th Overall – 35 points (for the show)
5th Overall – 30 points (for the show)
Breed or Division Champion – 25 points (for the show)
Reserve Breed or Division Champion – 15 points (for the show)
Class points :
1st – 10 points
2nd – 8 points
3rd – 6 points
4th- 4 points
5th or lower – 2 points
All Shows must follow the following species guidelines in reference to the Overall Market Lamb/Goat
Registration
-Breeders will have the opportunity for any lamb or goat they sell to be entered in the high point lamb and goat award at the end of the show season, by sponsoring a breeder sponsor lot, for the amount of their choosing; amount can NOT be less than $300 sponsorship, with no maximum sponsorship. See options below:
- $500+/ unlimited nominations
- $300/ 5 head nominations
-Once a breeder has completed the Breed Sponsorship requirements, exhibitors can nominate their animal on the signup genius page and pay the $25 enrollment fee to have their lamb /goat entered for Overall Lamb/Goat award at the conclusion of the 2025 show season.
-Breed Sponsors will be displayed on VSC website, Facebook page, announced throughout each show during regular show season as well as the End of Year Awards.
Sheep
- Wethers and Ewe Lambs will show together.
- All sheep must have an approve scrapie identification tag.
o You will use this tag to register at ALL shows for animal points to qualify.
- Lambs must have all milk teeth intact.
- Champion and Reserve Champion will be chosen by the judge at each show. It is preferred that a TOP 5 be selected at each show if possible.
- The top 2 high point lambs will be announced and awarded at the end of the circuit.
- Lambs may show by breeds (White Face, White Face Cross, Natural, Black Face Cross, Southdown). Some shows may require a minimum number to have a breed division, in that case the lamb will show in the BFX classes.
- In the event of a tie,
o Head-to-head competition will be considered.
o All dropped scores will be added.
o Additional prizes will be given if the tie remains.
Goats
- Wethers and does will show together.
- All goats must have an approve scrapie identification tag.
